Help WTUL move!!!

Call 865-5887 if you can help. Spread the word.

WTUL, 91.5 FM, is a community radio station, and the endeared New Orleans music alternative that airs Democracy Now.

The Tulane University administration said on Thursday that it was going to demolish the building in which WTUL's studio is located ON TUESDAY!

So the WTUL staff was given a four-day notice to vacate the building including all equipment and some 30,000 vinyl and cd recordings.

The Hullabaloo is in the same bind.

Fortunately, Tulane "promised" to provide Belfor contractor personnel to physically move everything to storage in Uptown Square. That help may not materialize (Tulane reneged on their promise when WTUL had to move out of the University Center). Even if Belfor does move boxes, everything needs to be boxed up.

There are only 4 or 5 people who are there desperately trying to pack everything up.

The Hullabaloo only has one person packing.

If you can help, call WTUL at 865-5887 during the day Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Note that there may not be people in the office past dark when the generators are turned off.
