Katrina diaspora demographics

The Los Angeles Times published a very praiseworthy analysis of address changes which describes where Hurricane Katrina evacuees relocated, and what the demographic characteristics of those evacuees are.

The analysis found that, in general, higher income whites ended up closer to home, while poorer blacks wound up further away from home.

A U.S. map of the results can be viewed here, and a PDF map of the southeast can be downloaded here.
