Run Mitch Run

Intelligent, articulate, thinks before he speaks, willing to risk putting ideas on the table (not just defend stupid comments), appears to be able to create coalitions -- for all of these reasons (plus the fact that he lives around the corner from me), I want Mitch Landrieu to run for mayor, but I'm watching closely the platform he develops.

Read between the lines (WWL):

Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu says a single levee board may not be the answer. He says, "Whether it's one levee board or two, or what the exact answer is -- remember what we are trying to do is to create a mechanism or a number of mechanisms that protect certain geographic areas from a common threat."

He says what Louisiana needs is an effective plan. "There is no magic to a particular number... what you want to do is make sure congress and the experts know once it's done that we have done a very thoughtful job or protecting one side of the river and the other side of the river, and that we focus just on levees and not on extraneous things."

Sigh....

Sounds to me like they're gonna all hang up in debate about the levee boards again.
