Renee Gill Pratt is now driving a $28,266 Dodge Durango she donated as a councilwomanbitch to her current employer, Care Unlimited. Care is indeed unlimited in a city where politicians feel like they can get away with this kind of shit!
Her explanation?
"Sometimes God puts things in places for you."
That's not all. Mose Allison, U.S. Rep. William Jefferson's brother, is Renee Gill Pratt's friend. Well shaaaa-zaam, Gomer -- it turns out he works for Orleans Metropolitan Housing, and he's now driving a $29,661 Dodge Ram pickup truck his friend donated to that organization! I guess he likes the pickup better than the other vehicle Gill Pratt donated to the organization.
The vehicles were donated by DaimlerChrysler to the City of New Orleans at a time when city agencies lost hundreds of vehicles to flooding.
WTF?!!
Oh, what's that? It's not illegal to donate vehicles to organizations you might work for after the voters throw you out on your ass?
Over the years, it seems, Renee Gill Pratt has channeled millions of taxpayer money to her own handpicked charities, including, just before she was turned out of office, a $16,071 city grant from a council discretionary fund to, yes, her friend Mose Jefferson's group, Orleans Metropolitan Housing.
I say let's tar and feather the effing bitch!
This is a total freaking outrage! We need to tell the current city council we're not going to take it anymore!

This is a good occasion to add another candidate to the tar-and-feather list: Rev. Benjamin Edwards Sr.
Edwards, it seems, although he's supposed to be a humble man of God, has quite a lot of cash lying around to spend on friends in high political office:
Edwards also spent what he estimated to be more than $200,000 trying to get the mayor re-elected. Most of that money, an "independent expenditure" that as such was not subject to state limits on political contributions, went to pay for billboards with Nagin's likeness and campaign slogan in various evacuee hubs, including Atlanta and Houston, according to Edwards. He said he also paid for radio ads in out-of-state markets supporting Nagin.
Edwards is also in a key position on the Sewerage and Water Board, where he has used his position to steer contracts to friends like Bishop O.C. Coleman of Greater Light Ministries. Coleman, oddly enough, is a principal in a company that does business with the Sewerage and Water Board, Management Construction Consultant Inspection Inc., or MCCI.
Gambit Weekly broke a story in 2001 about Edwards' questionable practices.
Edwards, 47, had no experience in sewerage or water management, maintenance, or any related field prior to his initial appointment to the S&WB by Mayor Sidney Barthelemy. Moreover, he was arrested earlier this year on bad check charges in Jefferson Parish.
Complaints about Edwards have been lodged all the way up to the S&WB president, Mayor Marc Morial, who has protected Edwards as a Board member and even reappointed him to the Board in the midst of complaints from other Board members. The mayor has indicated he likes Edwards' style of stirring things up and of pressuring the S&WB to hire minority firms.
Ray Nagin reappointed Edwards to the Sewerage and Water Board.

Forget that the Durango ended up in her possession. The real question is - how the hell does a councilperson have the authority to donate to anyone, something given to the CITY of New Orleans? I notice it's bright red. I'm sure the NOFD can use a vehicle or two. Or, if there isn't a need for donated vehicles in the city, sell the damned things and buy bulletproof vests and working radios for the police.
I'm sure God will have a Dodge Durango waiting for the rest of us heathens after we pay for our sins in purgatory.
Renee Gill Pratt must be as pure as a virgin to be given her Dodge Durango here on earth.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. RGP - well, really, the Jefferson clan, because she's not nearly smart enough to come up with these scams - have been stealing money from the citizens for YEARS and getting away with it. Finally, finally, they may all get their due and we may be rid of them and the rest of the bottom feeders. Thank you Times Picayune!
