Chestnuts roasting in an MRE heater bag

Mary Landrieu:

"We will not be going home for Christmas until the people of the Gulf Coast have a home to go to as well -- if not this Christmas, some Christmas soon."

As observed by World Class New Orleans, the Times-Picayune was really quite over the edge, justifiably, when it printed an editorial on the front page of its Sunday edition criticizing those in Washington who hesitate to commit now to Category 5 storm protection while insinuating that here in New Orleans "we wore our skirts too short and invited trouble."

Meanwhile, YRHT mocked Senator Vitter (R-LA) for celebrating the indications, considerations, and other foot-dragging by the Bush administration to step up to the plate and declare the specific resources he has set aside to guarantee Category 5 storm protection.

That's up in the air - part of a larger saga.

Oh, that doesn't sound good. If you get a chance, send me an e-mail sometime.
