Feck! Arse! I missed it.
Why didn't they have a link to this from the http://renewal.tulane.edu website ?
Ashley -- Cowen's answer to everything was to say that these cuts will make Tulane stronger than it ever was before, and that students should thank the university for providing such an interesting city in which to get a degree.
Check the Tulane web site on Monday. I found the chat page, by the way, only after going back out to the home page (WTH).
If I see the transcripts Monday, I'll post them here.
I thought you were in the chat room because one of the first questions asked was whether Cowen and the Board consulted with Filo (and another donor). Cowen said that the engineering department's donors agreed that these are unusual times and, therefore, the cuts were justifiable.
When I see Filo and Clark's comments, then will I believe that they agreed to the cuts.
If you read what Filo said when he made the donation, I can't see him authorizing that money to go anywhere but engineering.
That's $60M that Tulane would not have received had they not had a CS&E department. Oh well...expendable.."and it will make for a stronger university".
