I took a day off from the blog yesterday. It's just so fatiguing staying on top of the complete incompetence and incomprehensible leadership failure of dumbfuck monkey boy Shrubya.

Well, Michael brought me up to speed pretty fast, and I just have to jump on the raving-lunatic bandwagon with Ashley. I'm fucking fed up with Bush!

I mean, have we really come to THIS?

OUR GOAL is to remind our government to continue in its care of its own citizens.

Ashley responded to Bush's unfucking-believable IGNORANCE, INCOMPETENCE, and NEGLECT:

Bush won't bail out Entergy?!! What the fuck!

I honestly don't appreciate Entergy profiting while it puts its Entergy New Orleans subsidiary under bankruptcy protection, but really, Entergy has after all sunk $250 million into New Orleans and is about to make another $100 million loan to its subsidiary company.

Bush gave ConEdison $250 million after 9-11, and for what? I don't need to diminish the significance of 9-11 to make my point, but really, was the destruction of 9-11 really even close to the entire friggin' New Orleans grid and gas lines having to be repaired?!!

So what's the problem? Didn't Entergy make the Bush asswipe billionaire pioneers list in the 2004 election?

It's going to cost Entergy AT LEAST $350 million to get the New Orleans power infrastructure rebuilt. If Bush wants the parent company to fork over some of the $909 million in profits on $10 billion earned last year, well then make the case, but don't leave us hanging. I know that's a lot of cash. It was never a good idea to let energy companies become such freakin' huge behemoths, but that's just a 9 percent profit (respectable, but not unreasonable).

And see if you can wrap your heads around this one -- at the same time that Entergy is taking heat, from residents in those ridiculous Town Hall meetings Nagin hosts, for not getting the lights turned on fast enough, Ray-Ray's Bring New Orleans Back commission and the ULI have decided not to bring New Orleans back. So what's Entergy supposed to do -- put up posts, lines, transformers all over New Orleans only to discover that they can't recoup their investment? The numbers being tossed around are that Entergy will have to raise rates 140 percent. So your $100 monthly Entergy bill will go up to $240 next year; your $200 bill go up to $480. One way or another, without federal assistance, ratepayers are going to pay. And they can all thank George fucking Bush.

And did you check that out -- developers like Joe Canizaro want to tweak the plan so they can double dip:

"At the end of three years, we'll see who is there," Canizaro said. "And if a neighborhood is not developing adequately to support the services it needs to support it, we'll try to shrink it then."

Hmm ... how would the plan work?

[Canizaro] proposes the creation of a home buyout program that would give residents the pre-Katrina value of their homes if they choose to rebuild in their old neighborhoods and later have second thoughts about the location.

So, I'm not very good and ripping off taxpayers, but it strikes me as a little unusual that a developer would risk rebuilding in an area he's thinking he might later abandon -- doesn't it? I don't know what the angle is, but if I had to guess, I'd say he's going to take his insurance money, then build some piece of crap slum and sell it back to the government (but I'm sure there are even more clever ways to steal from taxpayers).

What about Bush's hypocrisy talking about what a great job he's doing with the economy (by passing the buck to future generations)? Well, I guess that depends on where you stand. Loren Scott, an LSU economist, quoted in Bloomberg:

Bush and his senior advisers have mentioned the country's 5 percent November unemployment rate four times since the Labor Department reported it Dec. 2. The jobless rate among 866,000 working-age Katrina evacuees the government surveyed in November was 20.5 percent.

Non-farm employment in the seven-parish area that comprises metropolitan New Orleans will drop next year to 337,000 workers, the lowest since 1963, down from the pre-Katrina level of 620,000, according to an LSU forecast released last month.

"That's the equivalent of costing the area four decades of growth," Scott said. "The rest of the country's economy may be rocking, but here it's pretty rough."

So now, as Congress prepares to push the spending on Iraq and Afghanistan to nearly one-freakin'-half of a trillion dollars! Yes kiddies, that's coming out of your pocket, not your daddie's:

Saving South Louisiana would be a rounding error in the context of this far-flung project of nation-building Iraq. When it's over, Bush's misadventure will be the most expensive war in American history (save WWII).

Meanwhile, the Bollinger Shipyards magnate discussing his dinner conversation with monkey boy demurred when asked if Bush "gets it":

"He just needs to get his arms around what each thing costs," Bollinger said.

To which oyster retorted:

So, our "best friend" allows weeks and months to pass before making a strong commitment to Category 5 levees and wetlands protection? Does Bush understand how many THOUSANDS of businesses decided to relocate from Louisiana while he was "getting his arms" around the projected costs? Flood protection will cost $35 billion, Dubya; the price of 16 U.S. embassies in Baghdad; the cost of 7 weeks in Iraq. Let's start there.
