Bush is the doom of New Orleans

If anyone had any doubts that Bush wasn't the worst failure of a president in United States history, if anyone had any doubts that he is simply out of touch with reality, now comes this new evidence to make the case:

Donald Powell, President Bush’s choice to oversee the Gulf Coast recovery from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, said that grant money already appropriated by Congress — as much as $6.2 billion for Louisiana — would be “sufficient” to take care of homeowners who suffered the most in the storm.

$6.2 billion? What the fuck? Is he out of his friggin' mind?

Hey, he's a banker. Did you see my take on those remakrs? When a banker starting sniffing that "he hopes it will be enough" about your income, it's time to turn the pages back from homes to apartments.

Worst president ever...did you know that you can go to google.com, type in the word "failure," hit the Feeling Lucky? button and be sent directly to W.'s bio?

That has to offer some small bit of comfort.

We must find a way to stay positive - just because the White House is against an issue does not mean it is a lost cause.

Mark,

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I'm very interested in the behind the scenes deal-making that must be part of the Baker bill. Could you be more explicit, or point me to your post?

Tara,

Positive yes, but I feel like it's my part to be negative in the extreme -- to show the world our frustration and anger at the complete incompetence and negligence of George W. Bush so that people get the assistance they need, and so that this never happens again here or anywhere else.

My hope is that George W. Bush's biography will come up in the future when you google "impeachment."

Just say this over on the Hammer of Truth blog: http://hammeroftruth.com/2006/01/24/men-in-black-defend-the-constitution/

Effectively a protest where AG Alberto Gonzales is ridiculously trying to defend the legality of Bush administration wiretaps on American citizens without having any actual Judicial or Congressional oversight. I just thought it might interest some of the folks here seeing what looks to be a fairly effective peaceful protest in a rather public forum and so well pinpointed in target.

Schroeder--

I totally understand your PoV. I did not mean to that anyone ought to stop pointing out his ignorance, ambivalence, and complete incompetence. You are right and justified in your approach, and I don't think of it as negative at all. There is no way to put a positive spin on this news. I am just one who prefers to hold onto some hope until the final nail is in the coffin, so to speak.

For what it's worth, you can plug in "impeachment" to Google, hit Feeling Lucky and land at www.impeachbush.org. It's a small step in the right direction :) Perhaps your dream will come true!

Unbelievable (I don't know why I keep saying that or how Bush keeps outstripping himself).
