I know what I'm doing Saturday night

This is easily the most exciting sport I've ever watched. I can't wait to see our girls compete.

That little bird told me that the Big Easy Roller Girls will be featured on WTUL's Community Gumbo, 91.5 FM, Saturday morning at 9 a.m., and there may also be one or two local bloggers featured.

I couldn't think of a better metaphor for Life In New Orleans

Racing around in circles while bumping vicously into each other. I can't wait

Better yet, our first bout is on September 16th, at Mardi Gras World. Mark your calendar.

Are you taking Eduardo the Sputum along? He'd be a sensation...

This,of course, makesme think of an old song: "Roller Derby Star." It was a great rocker by Copperhead, a Bay Area band fronted by ex-Quicksilver guitar slinger, John Cippolina. I have the elpee somewhere deep in the recesses of my closet.

I remember watching the Roller Derby as a teen in the 70's - loved it! Will be interesting to see if today's women are as rough and tumble! I'll definately go to thing at Mardi Gras world!

Hey adrastos, I might need that LP -- think you could dig it up?

Eduardo the sputum may slip in for a while.

Or swirling around in circles Karen?

Thanks for the tip sophie!

The real fun will start when they raise enough money to compete Mixter.

Kansas City Bomber -- great suggestion Ashley.

It's a totally different setup now C -- much more democratic, and none of the staged crap, which actually makes it much more dynamic to watch.

Okay C, I'm sure the bruises and broken bones weren't staged (all of the time).
