You win - God probably does hate gay bashers

While checking the PGR visitor statistics, I came across a search for Lance Cpl. Derrick Cothran. I followed the search parameters, and there found as the fourth ranked listing the following flier. It's one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen, and exposes the extreme moral depravity of the Christian right.

I'm left speechless by attitudes like this:

We Dare You To Read This: "God Loves Everyone" - The Greatest Lie Ever Told

I've heard about these guys, but didn't pay it much attention. They have my attention now.

Can we prosecute these people?

Why would you want to prosecute them?

Their own moronic stupidity shows through just fine on its own. The wonders of freedom of speech.

Hmm ... there must be something else they can be prosecuted for other than speech. If I were in a position to do so, I would turn their lives upside down.

Tara, dirty is exactly the way I feel. What a disgusting lot of people.

The words 'God Hates..' made me laugh and the ludicrous flyer did too.

God Hates Fags is, of course, code.

However, I then recalled hearing about recent gang attacks on men walking alone in the Marigny & Bywater areas. Certainly, such diatribes can influence the gullible, but given that 'they' claim to be having a picket in Kenner, I can't help but wonder if there's an actual connection?

I'd like to attend one of their pickets to see if they exist and what they look like.

I assume the flyer to be the work of a fascist coward most probably suppressing homo-erotic impulses of their own. Such persons always INSIST that homosexuality is a choice, thereby proclaiming that they are living a chosen sexual identity, rather than enjoying whichever one they feel comfortable with.

Oh, and the decoded message reads: I Hate Myself.

Having dealt with the Phelpses and their WBC for many years, the best way to handle them is direct confrontation. Do not go to their website and scream... most of them are lawyers, and they love to come after their critics.

Back in '92, Randy Shilts, (who wrote "And the Band Played On" concerning the AIDS Crisis), died, and these morons announced they were coming to S.F. to interrupt his funeral.

Several thousand locals showed up from all walks of life, and surrounded Glide Memorial where the funeral was being held. When the WBC arrived, we pelted them with hundreds of raw eggs, and they ran back to their vans and went straight to the airport. They wanted to get back to Kansas real bad. LOL

This is how one handles creatures such as this.

Schroeder,

They've been at this for a while now, as Morwen says.

I wrote about them here. They've prompted a flurry of legislation, not so much targeted at them as a group, but at their outrageous choice of funerals for protests. The latest is Texas (link) .

I keep remembering lessons learned as a parent, and even some from childhood, about how the best technique for curbing certain behaviors is to ignore them. In this case, I think the media is giving them the platform they want to force their extremism into everyone's faces.

They make me ill.
